Lake Stevens Riptide Select Baseball

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PART OF THE LAKE STEVENS ​RIPTIDE SELECT BASEBALL PROGRAM?

The Lake Stevens Riptide Select Baseball Program comprises competitive, developmental baseball teams from the greater Snohomish County. As part of the LSR teams, players will be involved in:

*Competition (leagues, tournaments, showcases)
*Age-appropriate athletic training
*Team-building events
*Character and leadership development
*College pathway program

Lake Stevens Riptide focuses on maximizing talent and minimizing injury accomplished through multiple founding principles, including:

1. Athletes are expected to engage in multiple sports and not baseball solely.
2. Athletes are expected to take a physical break from competitive baseball for at least 3 months each year.
3. Our Winter Training Program and Tournament season are set up to minimize interference with other sports; however, there is an understanding that some overlap will occur.
4. We expect our parents to understand and implement pitching guidelines to protect their athletes from overuse of their pitching/throwing arms.
5. Athletes are expected to attend the majority of winter training, which is developed to be age-appropriate with a focus on functional conditioning for the baseball athlete.
