The
Central
State
Spikes
Baseball organization
was
constructed to give
area
baseball players a program where they could play a good brand of baseball around
Central Illinois with rosters primarily focused on Unit #7 kids as the foundation.
Our
vision always centers on a baseball environment where kids can grow as players while learning the right way to play.
We know not every player may fully understand or embrace this unique experience at this young age, but our hope is that we can help as many as possible become better blavers and learn to love the game.
We
want to have a group of coaches along the way that will mentor the players and give them an opportunity to become a better person as well.
GOALS
One of our program goals will always be to put competitive teams on the field without sacrificing player development.
We want to try to continue to give every player on the roster
a
chance to get better.
Although winning is fun and can be a direct reflection of hard work, at the end of the day, no one cares about your summer win-loss record. Being competitive should be important, but win-loss record should not be our number one focus.
Another program goal is to help all Spikes players understand the importance of playing right, playing hard, and playing the game respectfully. We always want to be the program which hustles on and off the field, the program which respects umpires and opponents, the program with players who care about their teammates, and the program that plays the game correctly. All players, coaches, and parents must understand that they
are considered
representatives of the Spikes organization and should exhibit behavior consistent with the quality of our program.
