The Chicago Mudcats Sport & Social Club is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing Chicago's youth through service, sports and scholarship. Originally known as Do it Right Baseball, the club was founded in 2009 by former Northern Illinois University baseball player and Lane Tech High School Pitching Coach Justin Stringer. Since 2009, the Mudcats organization has grown from a one-week summer camp to the multi-faceted dynamic sports club it is today.
Currently more than 140 youth participate in Mudcats' brand of travel boys' baseball and girls' fast-pitch softball which touts inclusivity and diversity, and is geared to developing youth of character through competition. Additionally, the Mudats tout:
- more than thirty (30) professional, skilled coaches working closely with participants;
- a community of more than 120 dedicated families invested in the Mudcat experience;
- a robust scholarship program for a minimum of fifteen (15) players that would not otherwise be
unable to participate in the program; and
- a strong community service component allowing players to give back.
By building a connection around sports, education and service, the Chicago Mudcats brings generations of Chicagoans together and is poised to be the premier sports club in the City

Both of my kids have been in this baseball program for 4 years now. High quality coaching, tons of training included in the program fee, values based, community service, no politics or nepotism as there are no parent coaches. Kids love it! Families are nice. The kids skills, teams and program keep getting better every year! We'll be back...

Beyond mastering the game of baseball, Justin Stringer and the Chicago Mudcats instill a sense of purpose in their players. Players donate jackets, mentor younger players, and volunteer their time to improve the City of Chicago. One day, I am looking forward to having my children play for the Chicago Mudcats!
