Venom provides one of the most organized and affordable full-time travel baseball experiences in the region. Families benefit from structured practices, tournament competition, winter workouts, clear communication, and a development-focused approach designed to help players improve throughout the year.
Once teams are formed in July, Venom players and families can expect a structured, organized, and development-focused baseball experience. For our 8U teams, there is no fall ball, allowing players to enjoy other sports, family time, and a break from baseball before winter training begins. For 9U-12U teams, participation in a fall league is at the discretion of each team's coaching staff based on the needs and goals of the team.
From October through December, players will have the opportunity to participate in speed and agility training designed to improve athleticism, coordination, balance, quickness, and overall athletic development. Teams will then transition into baseball-specific offseason workouts from January through March, typically 1-2 days per week. Winter training may include indoor practices, batting cage sessions, professional instruction, defensive work, pitching and catching instruction, and team development activities. Training locations may include facilities throughout the DuPage County area, including Lombard, Addison, Villa Park, and surrounding communities.
Venom encourages players to participate in multiple sports and activities throughout the year. We believe multi-sport athletes often become better overall athletes while reducing the risk of burnout. Coaches will do their best to work around other athletic commitments, and we simply ask families to communicate availability for practices, workouts, and team events.
The spring and summer season typically begins in April and runs through July. 8U teams can generally expect approximately 25-35 games, including league play, playoffs, and tournaments. Players at the 9U-12U levels can generally expect approximately 30-45 games, including league play, playoffs, and tournaments. The exact number of games, tournaments, and events is determined by each team's coaching staff and age level.
Some teams may choose to participate in tournaments that require travel outside the local area. Please note that transportation, lodging, and other travel-related expenses for out-of-town tournaments are not included in team fees. Tournament schedules, locations, and participation are determined by each team's coaching staff based on the developmental and competitive goals of the team.
At Venom, we strive to provide the right balance of competition, player development, family time, and affordability. Our goal is to help players improve, compete at a high level, and continue enjoying the game while maintaining a healthy balance with family, school, and other activities.
